Again, welcome to the 14th Annual Pre-College and Youth Outreach Conference (PCC)! Here are some important reminders to help you have a smooth and successful experience:
HOW DO I ACCESS THE VIDEO-ON-DEMAND MATERIALS?
All sessions that will take place in the CDEF room will be professionally recorded. On Monday, October 24, you will be sent access to these recordings via the email used for your registration. If you have any questions, please email Marissa Taylor (mnrivas@umich.edu).

HOW DO I EARN SCHECH CREDITS?
Participants will be able to earn 5.5 in SCHECHS credits (optional and at no additional charge). When you check in at the registration desk, please pick up a form and dropped it off before the closing ceremony at the registration desk.
WHAT ARE THE HOTEL LOGISTICS?
Hotel information – There is no group rate, and individuals will book their own rooms if needed. Hotels that are closest to the Eberhard Center are the following: Holiday Inn Grand Rapids Downtown, an IHG Hotel – across the street; Courtyard by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown – Walking distance; Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton – walking distance; JW Marriott Grand Rapids – longer walking distance; AC Hotel by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown – longer walking distance

ARE MASKS REQUIRED?
This conference will follow all COVID-19 requirements of the conference venue, the city of Grand Rapids, and Grand Valley State University. As of today, this conference will be mask-optional. Please come and feel comfortable. If you have any questions, please find someone with a “Steering Committee” ribbon on their name tag or email Marissa Taylor at mnrivas@umich.edu.
HOW DO I CONNECT WITH OTHERS?
We encourage you to introduce yourself to others at meals, engage during sessions, and exchange business cards.
WHAT IF I NEED A BREAK?
Today’s conference allows time for you to take breaks. During these times, we encourage you to relax in the outdoor seating overlooking the Grand River or utilize one of our quiet rooms for work and leisure (detailed more below).
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE TODAY?
Your attendance today is an investment in your outreach career and we thank you for attending. We encourage you to participate in ways that best align with your needs and your learning style. This could mean participating in one of our many sessions, posting photos of you and peers using the hashtag #PCC2022, or connecting with peers at “after-hours” social outings. Today is for you and your journey.
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS OF ATTENDEES?
Be kind to yourself and others. As an organization that prioritizes respect, inclusion, and leadership, we expect all participants to be respectful and avoid disruptive behaviors throughout the event. Any disrespectful or disruptive behavior will result in removal from the conference. We trust that all attendees will be able to engage positively.
WHERE ARE THERE ACCESSIBLE AND GENDER INCLUSIVE BATHROOMS?
Accessible and gender inclusive bathrooms can be accessed by elevator on the 3rd & 7th floor.
WILL THERE BE QUIET SPACES AVAILABLE?
Yes! We will have designated quiet spaces available during the conference. On the second floor, Room 202 will be available as a no sensory room. One the third floor, Room 316 will be a quiet working space and Room 317 will be a quiet room available to nursing mothers. Please use these designated spaces at your convenience while respecting the space for others who may be utilizing it as well.
HOW DO I CONNECT TO WIFI?
There is guest wifi available for everyone to use free of charge and does not require a password. Look for “GV-Visitor” in your wifi settings. Once you click connect, you will be redirected to a webpage where you will provide your email and be granted access to the wifi.
ARE THERE VENDORS AT THE CONFERENCE?
Yes! In the EAST LOBBY, you will find vendors, sponsors and others there to connect with you, provide more information and some fun swag.
WHAT IF I HAVE A QUESTION?
Anyone with a “EVENT STAFF” or “STEERING COMMITTEE” ribbon on their name tag will be more than happy to assist you in your needs.
I HAVE A DIETARY ALLERGY/CONCERN.
Today’s lunch was designed to accommodate all dietary needs. Breakfast and Lunch will be buffet style, with each allergy clearly marked on the food labels. We also have a special meal for those who requested more accommodations. Please see the set-aside food station to check in and receive your meal.
