Welcome to PCC 2022
Thank you for being with us during the 14th Annual Pre-College and Youth Outreach Conference (PCC). We are excited you are here to learn, network, and share your expertise with your outreach colleagues. The 2022 PCC will bring together more than 40 speakers from around the state of Michigan and beyond to discuss the theme of MIND THE GAP: BUILDING BRIDGES FOR BOUNCING BACK.
As we began planning the 2022 Conference back in January, almost two years after the beginning of the quarantine period of COVID-19 and during the height of Omicron, we thought, “How are we feeling right now as cases rise?” We just hosted a successful virtual conference in November 2021, bringing together approximately 225 outreach professionals from across the U.S., and many of our institutions were successfully (though not without trial and error) running in-person and virtual summer programs. There were a lot of emotions during those early days of planning, but we also knew that the summer would be very different and wanted to capture that hope for the future of outreach in the state during this conference.
Today is brought to you by 11 institutions, represented by 23 members of the steering committee. The committee chose this theme to celebrate you, your team, your institution, and the small and massive ways we’ve survived and thrived in the K-12 educational outreach space over the last few years.
It is an honor you are here with us today. We are proud and excited about this conference and all the work that will be shared. We hope you enjoy it, and we will see you next year in October 2023, for the 15th Annual Conference!
